Short-Term Rehabilitation

Superior Clinical Care & Post Hospital Rehabilitation

Our Short-term Rehabilitation Program Offers Several Services To Help You Recover As Quickly As Possible

Madison Medical Resort's Rapid Recovery Program is individually designed to help each guest return home with the greatest independence. This program is intense, accelerated, and tailored to the individual. It helps our residents build strength and independence to achieve their maximum level of function before returning home. A typical therapy schedule may include two or more individualized therapy sessions per day. In these therapy sessions, residents will practice all the skills required by their individualized treatment plan.

Following the course of care, each patient is evaluated to determine their ability to continue living alone or with loved ones. Most rehabilitation patients return to their own homes, or to a assisted living facility following recovery.

Physical Therapy

Physical injury or surgery requires time to heal. Our staff closely monitors our rehabilitation patients and their progress. Once healing has progressed, specific exercises are needed to heal properly. Cheyenne Medical Lodge has on-staff physical therapists who are trained to ensure that physical therapy is done correctly and efficiently in our therapy room.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy revolves around how an injury affects your daily life. Some injuries can cause significant change in daily routine and activity. Occupational therapy seeks to modify or change aspects of your daily routine and activities so that your quality of life is maintained.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy covers speaking, language and swallowing. Neurological diseases and trauma can cause challenges in this area. Our speech therapists are experienced in this field and can help you overcome these obstacles.

Wound Care

Chronic, non-healing wounds require great care to ensure they don’t affect quality of life and lead to infection. Our wound care nurse tends to residents’ wounds to relieve pain and ensure they are properly cleaned so healing occurs as quickly as possible.

IV Therapy

Intravenous (IV) care is an important component of any hospital treatment, as it keeps patients hydrated on top of other health benefits. IV Therapy is available in both short and long-term care options.

Hydrocollator

Hydrocollators are specialized heating devices that heat up special packs of water, and then applied to various parts of the body to relieve pain and relax the muscles.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is more or less the opposite to the hydrocollator. It utilizes cold compresses and devices to relieve everything from pain to swelling. Cryotherapy can be anything from a simple ice pack to an ice bath.

Diabetes Management And Education

Diabetes is a serious condition, but with knowledge and regulation, it can be managed. We have methods available to help our diabetic residents. Our staff will also instruct you on how best to manage your needs post-rehab.
